Exciting News – TAFE Queensland’s Bohle Campus!
Waltlec is thrilled to have partnered with Paynters on an impressive upgrade and expansion project at the Bohle campus. This initiative features a state-of-the-art Green Star building dedicated to advanced robotics, hydrogen, and renewable energies, an extension to the EV workshop, and renovations to existing classrooms. This milestone is a major leap forward in providing top-tier technology for TAFE’s education and training facilities.
The project included a thorough overhaul of electrical systems and infrastructure. We supplied and installed a new main switchboard, modified the existing switchboard to function as a distribution board, and added new distribution boards. Significant updates were made to electrical and communication pits, conduit systems, and new electrical reticulation, including sub-mains cables for the new northern building and southern extension.
Our work also encompassed the installation of lighting and power systems, including emergency lighting, illuminated exit signs, an advanced lighting system with integrated daylight and occupancy sensors with dimming features, generalpurpose switched socket outlets, soft-wiring, floor boxes, and Big Ass Yellow Jacket directional fans to help combat the Townsville summer heat.
In our commitment to sustainability, we’ve installed energy-efficient solar car park lighting and electric vehicle chargers to support the rise of electric vehicles. Additionally, we’ve implemented a substantial 188kW solar PV system designed to significantly reduce the campus’s carbon footprint. This upgrade is set to transform the learning environment, ensuring students have access to the latest technology and top-notch facilities.
